The Illustrated 3D Laptop (and 3D All-in-One PC) ListThis page lists 3D Laptops and 3D All-in-One PCs - that are capable of displaying very high quality stereoscopic 3D images and video on their built-in screen. This list is a supplement to The Illustrated 3D Movie List. The first commercially available 3D Laptop was the Sharp Actius RD3D which was released in 2003. The number of 3D laptops in the market is now exploding! So, what is a 3D Laptop (or a 3D-Ready Laptop)? This is not standardised or defined - but it could mean: (a) a laptop with a 3D screen (see the list below), or perhaps (b) a laptop that can drive an external 3D display (there are specific hardware and software requirements to drive various 3D displays). Please note that I don't sell these 3D laptops. The buy links will take you to various commercial providers, including Amazon. Additionally, 3DMovieList is unable to guarantee the 3D compatibility of all products listed here - especially those that haven't been tested. Please do your homework. Manufacturers wishing to have their products verified for 3D compatibiity should contact 3DMovieList. Blu-ray 3D discs can be played on some of these 3D laptops with appropriate Blu-ray 3D playback software. Andrew Woods

What sort of 3D content can I view on these 3D displays?
(i) Stereoscopic Games - over 1000 consumer PC games can be played in stereoscopic 3D using drivers from either NVIDIA, DDD or iZ3D.
(ii) Stereoscopic Blu-ray 3D discs and 3D DVDs - a large selection of Blu-ray 3D discs and field-sequential 3D DVDs is listed here: 3D DVD list.
(iii)
Stereoscopic 3D photographs shot with a stereoscopic 3D camera. See the 3D Camera List for more information.
NB: There has been considerable talk of conversion of regular 2D content to 3D in real-time, however in my experience this rarely produces images as visually pleasing as real stereoscopic 3D content.
